Course: Furniture Design and Human Factors
Project: Full Scale Plywood Chair
Description: Students collaborate by working in teams of two to design and construct a full scale, functional chair out of plywood using only wood joints. No screws, nails, or other hardware is allowed.
Learning outcomes: Students will exhibit the ability to select, interpret, and apply appropriate anthropometric data. Enhance the student’s abilities to understand and work directly in three-dimensional mediums. Students will demonstrate an awareness of typical fabrication and installation methods and maintenance requirements through the use of hand tools and power tools.
