Course: Drawing I
Project: Drawing the Figure
Description: Drawing from the live model, students observe and render accurate proportions and anatomy while demonstrating an understanding of foreshortening, composition, line quality, and use of tonal ranges. We also discuss how the human figure as subject matter is particularly charged, both psychologically, historically, and politically.
Learning Outcomes: Students demonstrate a mastery of drawing from direct observation, analyzing and rendering human while utilizing the formal elements and design principles to create unified compositions.
