Course: Drawing I
Project: Self Portrait with Modernist Background
Description: Students learn to draw their portrait with anatomical proportions and character likeness. For the background, they must choose from a short list of 20th century modernists to inspire their flatter, non-representational background.
Learning Outcomes: Students demonstrate a mastery of drawing the human portrait, applying the vocabulary and concepts associated to observational drawing, and utilize the formal elements and design principles to create unified compositions.
